In 2017, Carrington Charitable Foundation expanded its focus by launching the new Veteran Support Program, which is rooted in the pillars of Mobility, Stability, Purpose and Prosperity. For numerous years, CCF has provided mobility through the organization's support of the Veterans Airlift Command and Stability through Carrington House. The Foundation recognized the opportunity to do more.

"We discovered early on that mobility wasn't the only thing we could provide, and now we've realized that we can go beyond stability as well" says Shelly Lawrence, CCF's Executive Director of Community Relations. "Purpose and prosperity are especially important to a veteran returning home from service and rejoining society as a civilian."

The Veteran Support Program assists Veterans during their transition back to civilian life by supporting and providing opportunities with other like-minded nonprofits and supporting Veteran entrepreneurship opportunities, including Veterans who want to start their own businesses by offering mentorship and business planning advice.

The Purpose and Prosperity Project Group is made up of an elite group of Carrington volunteers. They work together to help Veterans who are budding entrepreneurs with ideas for new businesses, products and/or empowering projects. The Project Group guides them through building a business plan, helps find seed money and continues mentorship right through the launch. Working with organizations such as GallantFew and The Honor Foundation (created for Navy SEALS and the U.S. Special Operations community), the Purpose and Prosperity Project Group actively seeks Veterans who need support with their entrepreneurship ideas as they make the transition to civilian life.
